14 Year old Kelly Zhao adds to her trophy case and secures her 2nd provincial championship claiming the U15 GAO Championship shooting scores of 68-72 for the victory. Having worked with Gord Burns as her coach since the age of 6, Gord always knew that Kelly had a special gift to play this game very well. Finishing with a 2 round total of 4 under par, this left her 3 shots clear of 2nd place finisher Vanessa Borovilos . Kelly also won the U17 Championship in the summer of 2019, so she’ll be looking to add a U19 in the future to complete Ontario’s version of the Triple Crown. Kelly placed 13th at the 2020 U19 Championship, so she’ll be looking to add some distance off the tee in 2021 to be a strong contender at this year’s tournament.
