About Us

The Gord Burns Golf School is devoted to your total understanding of the game. 60 minutes of every hour is entirely focused on the student’s needs. Our goal is to help every student play better golf. Your PGA of Canada Class “A” instructor Gord Burns achieves this through driving range instruction as well as on-course instruction. Gord was recognized in 2024 as PGA of Canada’s Teacher of the Year receiving the prestigious George Knudson Award. After a playing career on the Canadian Tour ( now called the Mackenzie Tour), Gord has devoted his time to teaching and coaching the game since 2004. Gord still also loves to compete and has earned 7 starts in 2 years on the PGA Tour Champions in 2024 and 2025 playing alongside former major champions, with his best finish of 16th place coming at the Dick’s Open in 2025 with an 8 under par total.

During the spring, summer, and fall months Gord can be found at Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club and Bushwood Golf Club. The winter months sees Gord divide his time between his Full HD Trackman simulator studio and the Markham golf dome.

Whether you are a student taking private lessons or a winter school participant, the lessons are taught with the sole intention of having the student understand his or her golf swing, ball flights, better movement patterns and scoring tactics in order to shoot lower scores.

The majority of lessons during the spring, summer, and fall are private lessons with the option of playing lessons as well. Playing lessons are generally conducted at Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club, one of Ontario’s nicest private clubs. The main teaching venue in the winter months is his Trackman studio.
