The Gord Burns Golf School is devoted to your total understanding of the game. 60 minutes of every hour is entirely focused on the student’s needs. Our goal is to help every student play better golf. Your PGA of Canada Class “A” instructor Gord Burns achieves this through driving range instruction as well as on-course instruction. After a playing career on the Canadian Tour ( now called the Mackenzie Tour), Gord has devoted his time to teaching and coaching the game since 2004.
During the spring, summer, and fall months Gord can be found at Fairtree Golf Center in Markham as well as Pheasant Run Golf Club in Newmarket. During the winter months, Gord divides his time between some of Toronto’s indoor driving range facilities and the luscious Florida fairways where he conducts winter golf schools.
The winter school gives students an opportunity to escape the cold canadian winter as well as the chance to improve your golf game. The school offers a one-two-three-or four (student) to-one (instructor) ratio. Our school offers 8 hours of instruction per day with packages ranging from 3 – 5 days. At the completion of the school, each student will have the ability to self diagnose their own flaws in their game and therefore practice with the intention of playing better golf. The use of Trackman to analyze ball and club data is also a feature of the winter school.
Whether you are a summer student taking private lessons or a winter school participant, the lessons are taught with the sole intention of having the student understand his or her golf swing, ball flights, and scoring tactics in order to shoot lower scores.
Two exciting Florida locations are offered for the Gord Burns Golf School in the winter; Orlando, and PGA Village in Port St. Lucie. The school is conducted on some of Florida’s finest golf courses. Luxury accommodations are offered as part of your semi-inclusive package, if desired.
The majority of lessons during the spring, summer, and fall are private lessons with the option of playing lessons as well. Playing lessons are generally conducted at Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club, one of Ontario’s nicest private clubs. The winter golf school is set up with a different format in mind. The day of instruction consists of 3 hours of practice time, lunch, followed by 4 hours of on-course instruction. The Orlando and Port St. Lucie schools are offered in December, January, February, March and April.
